Will PE Certification help with improving low rates for PE?

MTPE hype has been responsible for very low rates (most vendors don&rsquo;t even expect a different rate for light or full MTPE). As a freelance translator, I&rsquo;d like to know if being certified would somehow help me to reach out to other clients, who might be more focused on quality. Thanks.

The certification program provides a recognized standard of excellence for post-editing and shows how post-editing is embedded in the localization ecosystem. It allows you to add to your qualifications. Post-editing rates are generally lower than translation rates to account for increased productivity. In order to balance the lower rates, post-editing needs to be productive and sustainable. It is always worth discussing with work givers how they assess that content is suitable for MTPE. The certification provides a deeper understanding of MT technology, content requirements, different post-editing levels, and linguistic AI capabilities which is helpful to understand requirements and make post-editing more productive and sustainable.
