Unfortunately, we cannot consider this. Reasoning:
- Unlike other apps, we are processing Word documents without resorting to Word itself. This is key since it makes us Word version independent for file processing; it also helps in environments where no MS Word is available - for instance, when Studio is run on a server where you typically won't have MS Word installed. Also, even if rare, it helps in scenarios where MS Word is not installed on a user's machine at all. Other apps probably integrate with Word at its API level and can therefore prompt users.
- We would also argue that from a process perspective, this is an upstream problem. Should password-protected files be sent for translation? Their content will be changed entirely - so why would you send PW-protected files to a process where this will happen? We are aware that this then causes issues downstream for our users, unfortunately, and often it is impossible to change ways of working and get back to the work giver. But it's still a problem with the process.
