Customer Portal: Summary of Recent Releases

We have delivered a number of important new updates for Customer Portal and would like to share with you a summary of the features that are now available.

Project Conversations

We are excited to announce the general availability of a significant new collaboration feature to help facilitate seamless communication within the Trados platform. With this new feature, project-level communication between cross-functional project stakeholders is vastly improved. This innovation facilitates interaction between users allowing them to exchange messages within the context of specific projects.

The initial functionalities available for Project Conversations include the automatic creation of subscriber lists for each project, so when new comments are added to projects of interest, we notify the relevant parties. For Customer Portal, we consider the user that created the project, along with the user(s) responsible for Quote Approval, when determining the subscriber list. In addition, any user that adds a comment to a project will automatically be included in the subscriber list for that project.

Once a project is created, and a conversation has been started for that project, any subsequent comments trigger notifications sent to the subscriber list and via email.

To keep users informed, we provide visual indicators for projects with existing or unread comments. We routinely check for new project comments, identify those of interest to specific users, and consolidate them into a single email notification at hourly intervals.

Customer Portal Side Pane

We have introduced a new side pane in Customer Portal which is available from the All Projects List and Files for Review pages. The side pane is accessed by clicking on a project or task in the table and displays additional details about the selected task or project. 

Real-time Updates

The Customer Portal now provides real-time updates from the All Projects tile view and Project Details page, so users no longer need to refresh the page, when there are changes to a project.

    This is excellent news, but so far the new Customer Posrtal is not available, or at least I don't see any of the mentioned changes after logging into my account.
    In addition, the problems that I (and not only I) informed about yesterday have still not gone away.

    1. Still Trados Studio 2022 does not connect properly to the cloud:

    3. I still get Machine translation errors with some batches.

    I think this is a bit of a frivolous approach to the customer, since yesterday my work stands and the platform works a little and does not work a little.

    Not to mention that by re-uploading the batches that reported the error, I am paying for characters in any paid Machine Translaor Engine.
