Trados Enterprise - 22.07.1 Release

We have just released the latest update to Trados Enterprise translation management capabilities, and we would like to share the new functionality that has been delivered.

New features and updates are automatically added to your account so just login to Trados Enterprise and they will be available immediately.

Multiple outcomes for Human Workflow tasks

We have introduced the ability to specify up to four additional custom outcomes for human tasks, offering greater flexibility when designing workflows that include branching or looping elements.
This enables use-cases such as sending a file back to Translation after certain tasks, enabling multiple different routes, providing Project Managers with more flexibility in making ad-hoc decisions, or re-doing tasks in a loop until the result is satisfactory.

This is available for the following task types:

  • Desktop Publishing
  • Engineering
  • Final Check
  • Implement Customer Review
  • Linguistic Review
  • Project Planning
  • Translation

There are no restrictions on the names that can be given to outcomes, ensuring the action is clear and explicit for the end users as they complete the corresponding task(s).

When designing a Workflow in the visual Workflow editor, you can define the routes as per your desired business rules, sending it forwards, backwards, branching, or even in loops.

When users complete a task with multiple outcomes, they can select the desired outcome, based on the options available for that task.

The outcome of every task is recorded and displayed from the Task History, File History and for completed tasks from the Inbox, ensuring full auditing and visibility of the routes taken within a specific project.

Rename files in a running project

We have introduced the option to rename files in existing projects in Trados Enterprise. This option is available from the Project Details > Files and Task Inbox > Files pages. When renaming a source file, a user is presented with the option to also rename the corresponding target files.

By default, only Lead/Project Managers and Administrators are allowed to rename files.

Option to download only the target files that have been completed

When downloading target files in Trados Enterprise, users can now specify if they want to download the current version, native version, or only completed files. Previously, when selecting to download target files, the resulting zip file included not only the final target version of completed files but also the latest Sdlxliff version for incomplete files.

Multiple target languages per source language during creation of Translation Memories

When creating a new Translation Memory, it is now possible to specify multiple target languages per individual source language in the same row.
Previously, you could only specify a single source/target language in each row during TM creation:

Following the latest release, you can now include multiple target languages per source language in the same row:

Filter Pricing Models by source and target language

Filtering for Pricing Models has been extended to allow users to specify a single source and/or target language when filtering. We believe this will help in a number of scenarios, for example, to identify Pricing Models affected by rate changes without having to check each Pricing Model individually.

Copy the structure of a Translation Memory

We have introduced the possibility to copy the structure of a Translation Memory, similar to the functionality that was previously available for Translation Engines. The contents of a Translation Memory are not copied as part of this process; only the underlying structure, such as the source and target languages configured for a Translation Memory.

Edit Project Name and Description in Customer Portal

It is now possible for users to edit the Project Name and Description fields via Customer Portal up until the point a project has been approved.

API enhancements

  • Reading and updating the translation memory settings for a project.
  • It is now possible to update the filename for source and target files.
  • API limit increase and documentation updates.
  • Deprecation of the language direction code will happen in 6 months. You can read more about it here.
  • Animations on some API topics in documentation.
  • Various bug fixes.

For example, it is possible to filter based on multiple target languages or multiple task types, where those fields are available for filtering on a specific page.
  • Languages are now listed in alphabetical order within a human workflow task.
  • Email notifications are now sent from Trados rather than the previous RWS Language Cloud branding.
  • Updated custom field default values now reflect correctly in Project Template and Project creation views.
  • Language Weaver Machine Translation now supports English<>Macedonian and English<>Icelandic.
  • Various bug fixes and UX enhancements.

  • Hi,

I have a comment about the following change you made in the last release:

    • Email notifications are now sent from Trados rather than the previous RWS Language Cloud branding.

The fact that you changed the name of the sender from RWS Language Cloud to Trados is very confusing, I'm sorry.

At the moment, almost all your communications (Marketing, webinar, Trados Enterprise system, etc.) use Trados as sender's name. It's difficult now to differentiate a notification from TE platform and an email from RWS Marketing teams.

I've registered to a webinar today and I received an email from Trados Team... I could have easily overlooked a job request sent by our TE platform with all these emails sent by Trados.

Could you please consider changing the name of the sender again? And select a more logical name, like RWS Trados Enterprise for example. Or RWS Marketing for any Marketing-related emails.

    Best regards,

    Carla
