We have just released the latest update to Trados Enterprise translation management capabilities, and we would like to share the new functionality that has been delivered.
New features and updates are automatically added to your account, so just login to Trados Enterprise, and they will be available immediately.
Quote Templates
You can now change the format of the quotation, which is generated by using your own Quote Template. For example, you can create a quote template with your own logo and which includes only the information that you want to appear on the quote. Quote Templates are created in Excel format with static text, graphics, placeholders for project and quote information, and formulas. You can access Quote Templates in the Resources section under the Pricing menu:
Once a Quote Template has been defined, it can be specified in a Project Template and also when the Project is created.
It’s also possible to change the Quote Template in the lifecycle of the Project. Changing the Quote Template of a Project will affect all subsequent downloads of the Project Quote.
The most powerful features of Quote Templates are smart markers and formulas. More comprehensive documentation on smart markers and formulas is available in the documentation. There is also an associated learning module specifically for Quote Templates. As we continue to grow this feature, we expect that there will be lots of questions, samples, and help available in the RWS Community, so make sure to check back regularly.
Dynamic Assignment
We have introduced the option to enable Dynamic Assignment for workflows, which can be set as follows:
- Service type and Language pair
- Service type
- Basic
Dynamic assignment only applies where you have groups assigned to a workflow task. At the point a workflow task is created, we attempt to identify users within the assigned group(s) that match with the setting specified for Dynamic Assignment. For example, where this is set to “Service type and language pair”, we check for users in the assigned groups that offer both the corresponding service type and language pair for the task and assign only those users from the group. If no matching users are identified, we then search only by service type, and if there are still no matching users found, we revert to the default behavior and make the task available to all users within the assigned group(s).
Individual users assigned to a workflow task will not be impacted by the Dynamic Assignment setting and retain visibility of the tasks they are assigned to.
Project Group Enhancements
The following enhancements have been made to Project Group functionality:
- When rescheduling, choose whether updates should apply to current tasks, future tasks, or both
- Improved in-app notifications to summarize when requests are completed, skipped or return an error
- Ability to create a new Project Group as part of the project creation wizard
- Ability to add a Project to a Project Group during project creation
- Extended visibility of Project Group information from Project Group Preview and Project Details page
- Display the list of language pairs from the Project Group Preview
- Projects from different locations can be added to the same Project Group from the main Projects list
- Greater flexibility for task reassignment of future tasks (append/remove from existing assignees)
- Tasks can now be completed across multiple projects
Granular ‘Manager’ assignment in Vendor Order Templates
When configuring a Vendor Order Template, it is now possible to assign Managers to individual language pairs supported in a Vendor Order Template. Previously, it was only possible to configure assignees at the language pair level and Managers were configured globally for all language pairs in a Vendor Order Template.
Open Pricing Models in full-screen mode
We have introduced a usability improvement that allows users to open Pricing Models in full-screen mode. This ensures the header row in a Pricing Model remains visible at all times, even for those that support many language pairs. This allows users to work efficiently when creating and maintaining Pricing Models and reduces the risk of human error when entering values into a Pricing Model.
API enhancements
- Support for Quote Template functionality
- We introduced the projectManagers field to enable the selection of individuals or of users groups at project creation.
- We removed unnecessary outcome values for the Task Completed Request model on the Complete Task operation.
- You can now specify the projectCreator as an assignee type for a task when updating a project.
- We will enforce validations related to the following fields at project creation: dueBy, location and languageDirections.
These fields will become required in 6 months.
