Can't use DeepL Plugin

Hi,

After installing the last service pack, I'm not being able to use DeepL plugin anymore.

Can you help me?

  • I'm pretty sure there are no problems with the current plugin working with the latest update.  I think it's quite likely you have not completely removed the old one from Studio before installing the new one.

Please note that when you double click your plugin to install you probably placed it into the roaming folder.  When you used the Studio integration to install you probably placed it into the local.  I'd hazard a guess that this is where you are having a problem.  Clean them all out properly first and you should have no problem.

  • Good morning. Thank you for your comments. I did remove the plugin and checked again that it was removed.

Remember I was unable to install the new release by any means and then installed back the old one and then finally to install the new one with the above mentioned incidents.

As I said the plugin works now. But now this message pops up every time I open Studio...

Warning message in SDL Trados Studio about an unsigned plugin detected, with options to load or not load the plugin.

    and still works

I point this out just for you to know. I have no time to deal with this thing now because I have a long working day ahead. So it's going to take some time until I can come back here.

  • You have definitely not removed the plugins correctly.  When you have time please remove all the following folders/files:

    c:\Users\[USERNAME]\AppData\Roaming\SDL\SDL Trados Studio\16\Plugins\Packages\

    c:\Users\[USERNAME]\AppData\Roaming\SDL\SDL Trados Studio\16\Plugins\Unpacked\

    c:\Users\[USERNAME]\AppData\Local\SDL\SDL Trados Studio\16\Plugins\Packages\

    c:\Users\[USERNAME]\AppData\Local\SDL\SDL Trados Studio\16\Plugins\Unpacked\

    c:\ProgramData\SDL\SDL Trados Studio\16\Plugins\Packages\

    c:\ProgramData\SDL\SDL Trados Studio\16\Plugins\Unpacked\

Then reinstall the plugins using the integrated appstore.

  • Hi all,

I had the same problem yesterday as described by . I first installed the plugin by going to the web AppStore (the integrated one was not showing any plugins at all at that time), but after the installation, the PlugIn would not work. So I uninstalled it and tried again this morning by installing from the integrated app store. I managed to install it but got an error message again when trying to add the DeepLMTProvider provider to my project.

The solution was quite simple: I had a look at the list shown under Add-ins > Plug-ins – the DeepLMTProvider was in the list but not enabled. One click and now, everything works as expected...
