OpenAI provider for Trados splits a single translation result into multiple results.

Hi,
I'm using OpenAI provider for a translation on Trados Studio 2024.

On some segments the results are splitted into multiple results when they shouldn't be.
It happens when there are hyphens, semicolons or words that are all uppercase.

The same thing happens on the Translation results and on the AI assistant.
I've attached also a picture of the prompt.
I can't find a way to change this behaviour.

Thanks for your help!

"Question improvement suggestion": Please provide more information about the exact version of Trados Studio you are using, the operating system, and any recent changes you may have made to the system or software. Also, it would be helpful if you could share any error messages you might have received, and the troubleshooting steps you have already taken.

In the meantime, based on the information you have provided, here is a suggested answer to your question:

    Hello,

Based on your description, it seems like the issue might be related to how Trados Studio is handling punctuation and uppercase words when using the OpenAI provider. Here are some steps you can try:

Step 1: Check your segmentation rules. Trados Studio uses these rules to determine how to break down text into segments. If certain punctuation marks or uppercase words are causing segments to split, you may need to adjust these rules.

Step 2: Try disabling the 'Look Ahead' feature as suggested in the context. This feature can sometimes cause issues with machine translation providers. You can find more information on how to do this in the Trados Studio documentation: [Link to Trados Studio Documentation]

Step 3: After pre-translating the file with machine translation, deactivate the MT provider. This can sometimes help resolve issues with split segments.

Step 4: In the Language Weaver provider, disable the 'Re-send draft and translated segments' option. This can also help resolve issues with split segments.

Step 5: If you are using both Cloud-based resources and the Language Weaver provider, disable one of them. Having both enabled can sometimes cause conflicts.

Please try these steps and see if they resolve your issue. If not, please provide the additional information requested above so we can better assist you.

I hope this answer addressed your question. If not, please reject the answer, add the question improvement suggestion information, and click the RWS Community AI checkbox on the right to try again.
