Where is the Preview function?

Hi Wilfried

I can't find the Preview function that allows me to check how my post will look before I send it off.

This is really required when writing post containing a lot of formatting and embedded media.

  • Hello Walter,

I'm not sure I completely understand but here are some remarks that may help you.

    1. In general, help with working with this community is provided by the platform vendor Zimbra. For your convenience we have built at Green question mark in the navigation bar  on the right side that will take you there.
    2. There are some preview elements available for Office documents that you post on a Document Gallery.
    3. The community platform is based on a preformatted website paradigm which is quite common for website behavior and is different from a Word based document paradigm. We are relying on Cascading Style Sheets to drive the presentation format. This means that in the editor you have a very basic formatted text plus the options to give text instructions to behave in a certain way ( bullet, indent, bold). The EXACT format is then determined by the CSS. Unfortunately there is no Preview for the editor so you cannot see how it will turn out.
    4. It is a "responsive design", so that means that the behavior on how it shows is also determined by the device resolution. When we build new stuff, we test on desktop, tablet and cell phone devices including multiple browsers by OS like Windows, Android and iOS.

Bottom line: Do not worry about the styling and just post like you do on twitter or facebook.
