I do not personally deal with freelancer nor in house positions, if you are looking to join RWS vendor pool or in house teams, the best approach is to go to the RWS careers page at www.rws.com/.../

I do agree that graduates may have the talent required to be a good linguist. Hopefully in the future academic institutions will include in the students' path at least one professional internship/traineeship so that when students reach the market, they have already done it and so they can enter it in their cv.

Employers seek to have talented linguists that can also efficiently deliver, communicate with their colleagues and be part of a team. If the graduates show that they were part of an organization via volunteering, internships or even several small work experiences, that will count when being selected.
