If you will be an in-house linguist / intern, you would need to complete some onboarding training first that all employees go through. Then, there are internal self-trainings (eLearning) for RegLab to complete. Then you would be paired up with a mentor. Depending on your language, the mentor may or may not be a native speaker of your language.

The mentor will send you translation tasks for you to practice on. These will likely be practice projects at first, i.e. not "real" live ones. Mentors will then review and provide you feedback in writing via email and most often with clarifying calls. You can ask questions as much as you like.

You will move on to working on real live projects when the mentor deems that you are able to. You will still receive feedback to learn from on real projects, until you reach a level where you are deemed ready to be approved. This can take from months to longer, depending on how quickly you learn

Usually, time needed is 3-5 hours per week unless the individual situation requires it to be faster or slower. As an in-house linguists, you would also work on other Life Sciences / medical projects for the remaining time.

For freelancer scenarios, each will be assessed an arranged based on RWS' production needs. Freelancers may receive the RegLab eLearning as separate videos.
