  • Hi Alessandra,

This really depends on what interests you. I was most interested in an in-house role as I wanted to work directly with colleagues where there is a good social aspect and also one in which you are able to benefit from regular feedback.  When you work for a company, in-house, there are a lot more opportunities for structured training, mentorship and feedback from your colleagues.  When you work as a freelance translator you will still get feedback, but perhaps not quite as frequently.

In terms of the specialisms this rally depends on what you have in the past and what interests you.  I chose medical translation because it's an interesting field and I enjoyed the content.
