We don't have a specific scheme for this, but we often work with freelancers who take time out and then come back to translation. This is one of the benefits of freelancing as you can take the time out for travel, or studying, focus on family etc. and then return when it suits you better. You would have to engage in a little catch-up where appropriate to retrain where necessary, but flexibility is definitely a benefit of this profession.
