Experience required for being evaluated by RWS?

I've had my share of Life Science translation and review, however I'm not that specialised and don't have a Life Science degree. Would I still be able to do a test translation with RWS?

  • If you already have some experience in the translation industry then you can definitely do a test translation and it doesn't have to be in the Life Sciences area. If you state that, when you are applying, that you have your expertise in a particular area, and also what areas you do have some experience in (Life Science for example), then you will receive a test translation. It won't necessarily be in Life Sciences, it could be in the areas you are more comfortable with, but if you still want to have a go at Life Sciences then additionally you can receive a test translation for that too. If one of them is sufficient for us to sign a contract together then you will still have the opportunity to learn and move into other areas as your career progresses.
