The threat of AI to interpreting?

I think that with any technology that comes through it's always frightening. There is a lot of work out there, there are tools that we can use to our advantage that are powered by AI. I think there will always be situations that are deeply personal, and that need a person present. So for me personally, and I can't read the future, the personal touch is always going to play a role. But I think it's important as an industry and as professionals we garner the technology tools at our disposal so that we can use them to deliver our work as well. But we're keeping a keen eye, and learning every day on what's going on in AI and it's certainly advanced more in the last 2-years than it has in the last 10. There are other sessions in the Campus events that cover the use of AI in far more detail so I'd recommend popping into those to learn a bit more.

I'd just like to add quickly, going back on-site after being remote for a couple of years we've seen how much it's made a change to people who are feeling really good about being on-site and having the human contact with everyone else. I think having the interpreter on-site as well is very valuable so I don't think we should feel too threatened by this.
