Specialising shouldn't reduce the possibilities for more work because as we saw in the presentation the sectors are all interlinked. But you will find that at the beginning it's quite difficult to specialise in one sub-sector because there are so many things to digest,so many sub-sectors to get famliar with. It takes a while to get a deep understanding of the financial industry in general. It's recommended to read as much as possible to understand all of it and the specialisation is going to come over time with the areas you have a special interest in, and it's also going to driven by the projects you receive and the clients you work for. So you can get specialised if you have a special field of interest, that will take time, and in theory t should not reduce the possibility for more work because really good linguists are always highly in demand.
