Hi, I just started working on API. I got stuck at connecting to TMs on SQL server. I can't find SDL's instructions in terms of connecting to SQL database. Can anyone share a successful line of code?
Also SQL admin is asking me the following questions, can you please help me find the right answers? Thank you very much!
Does API use single id for db access? Does it use windows or sql authentication? Which account like to use? What kind of permission needed?
The API has no direction relationship to the SQL server. Actually it is not possible to directly access SQL Server from the API. The SQL server is configured in the server installation stage. Think the information you asked can be found in the server installation guide (producthelp.sdl.com/.../GroupShare_Installation_Guide.pdf).
If you just want to connect your TM server using API, you might have a look at the sample provided in another post "AnalyzeFiles and PreTranslateFilesTasks inProject Automation API Ignore Server TMs" (http://community.sdl.com/phase_2_groups/sdl_openexchange_developers/f/57/p/1013/4643.aspx#4643).

Xingzeng, thank you very much for your response. However, I do not have any problems with the code itself. My problem is that I do not know the path to TM files that is needed both in my own code and in the code suggested here (community.sdl.com/.../4643.aspx).
The million dollar question is how I can I find out the path to TM files? Thank you!
