SDK installation Issues

Hi there

I'm trying to use the Trados SDK v2.1 to create a Translation Provider plugin for Trados 2011, using Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 as my development environment and Windows 8 as my host OS. I managed to download the SDK and install it as well as the Visual Studio extension for VS 2010, but when I try to create a new project from the Translation Provider project template in Visual Studio, I get the following error:

"The imported project "C:\Program Files (x86)\MSBuild\SDL\SDLTradosStudio\9\Sdl.Core.PluginFramework.Build.Targets" was not found. Confirm that path in the declaration is correct and that the file exists on disk."

The path doesn't exist on disk, and I've searched for a couple of hours on Google trying to find a resolution to this problem, but no luck. If you could give me any advice as to what the problem is and any possible resolution, I'd be very grateful, thanks.

  • It's probably worth noting that the memoQ SDK doesn't come close to offering the extent of capability we do here, and also worth noting that you do need a license for Studio before the SDK is made available to you anyway.  I'm not sure this has been a problem encountered by anyone else yet... certainly on this basis there is no need to ship a dummy app to test plugins.  The dummy app for us would need to be a full blown installation of Studio... for memoQ it's simple because they don't offer much capability.
