this is actually Studio option - in the Pre-translate task option in the wizard select "Apply automated translations"

Thanks for your response. In my post above, I was referring to the steps required implement pretranslate support in a machine translation plugin in Trados, i.e. what code I need to write and where. Hopefully the answer will turn up here :)

HI,

that is the thing, you don't need to do anything special, pretranslate is using all available translation providers - if you plug in is available then it will be used as well. But unless user actually allows MT providers to be used (by the setting I explained above) the matches your provider returns will not be used.

Thanks for your reply. I've enabled the setting you mentioned. but still can't get my machine translation plugin to work using pre-translate. There doesn't seem to be any documentation on the SDK development kit page to explain why this might not work, so I guess I'll have to leave this feature unimplemented for now.

Hi Eric,

Is your plugin working in other regards?  Is it translating in other cases?  I have a plugin that works with the Studio's pre-translation option and I did not do anything special to support this beyond what Patrik suggested.
