Does my application really need to go in SDL Trados Studio 2014 folder , e.g. C:\Program Files\SDL\SDL Trados Studio\Studio3?

According to this page, http://producthelp.sdl.com/SDK/ProjectAutomationApi/3.0/html/acb28118-5b68-463b-8366-1dfe02637e7b.htm, there is a special note

Note Note
As build output path for your implementations please choose the installation folder of SDL Trados Studio 2014, e.g. C:\Program Files\SDL\SDL Trados Studio\Studio3.

Does this mean that application we create needs to go in the same folder as studio 2014?

Aren't SDL SDK .NET assemblies public assemblies, i.e. Global Assembly Cache (GAC)?

Thank you!
Rieko
