I went a little further with my idea to alter target segments with the ProcessSegmentPairs method.

I can use the target.clear() method to erase the content of the target segment but I was not able to insert any text in it. If I try to add a clone of the source, the sdlxliff gets broken because <mrk> tags get duplicated.

and if I try to add the source subitems, I get an error each time that I'm trying to add an element in a collection which already exists.

Am I doing something wrong here?

In order to manipulate the target segment you need to use Bilingual API from Studio File Type Framework. You can have a look at this Overview of the Bilingual API. I was trying the new Batch API but could not find a way to modify target (other than doing my own xml parsing...)

I managed to change existing target segments, but cannot handle empty Target Segment case.

I have tried to add a new target segment: created by ActiveDocument.ActiveSegmentPair.CreateSegment(ISegmentPairProperties properties).

But after call of following code, the UI freezes:

if (segmentPair.Target.Count == 0) {

 var segment = CreateSegment(answer, segmentPair.Properties);

 segmentPair.Target.Add(segment);

 _editorController.ActiveDocument.UpdateSegmentPair(segmentPair);

}

 Can you help me, how to:

1) Create successfully a target segment (with a simple IText content)

2) Or Copy source to target (as a workaround)
