Can I close a "Viewpart", progmmatically ?

Question

There are lots of ViewParts there, "Comments", "Advanced Display Filter" and etc.. -Including my own ViewParts too. 
 Is there any way to close it ? Programmatically ?? -Including my own ViewParts too. 
 Its close button is soooo small, it's quite hard to go there and close it. -floating is.. not an option at all.

Hi Kelly Edward , not sure if this answers your question, but you can hide view parts, accessible to you programmatically.
