I have just bought Trados 2022. The company I work with requires translators to install a plug-in made for Trados 2021. Is it possible to "downgrade" my trados to the 2021 version?

It depends what you bought. If you purchased an upgrade from 2021 to 2022, then you should be able to use both versions in parallel.
if you only purchased the 2022 version, you cannot downgrade it.
Which upgrade are your referring to? Isn't there any 2022 version of that plugin?
