Event that is raised when a segment is split from the document editor

Would it be possible to include a specific event in the API that you can subscribe to, so that you are notified when a segment is split from the document editor?

...maybe also one that is raised when multiple segments are merged?

Not sure if this is possible but I will raise this with the development team to see if there is a way to expose such an event
