How to set the stylesheet for real time preview for a new custom created filetype in Trados 2011?
The modified sdlfiletype file can only be used in Trados 2009.
I am using Trados 2014, is this feature possible now?

AFAIK it was always possible - only thing is that during preview all files specified in preview are copied to temp location. So unless you add all required files into preview and specify relative paths the relative paths in stylesheet will not work.

To be more specific, the custom file type I created is XLIFF and it’s using the FileTypeSupport Framework. The file type doesn’t have any settings for the Preview as the default XLIFF or XML has. Is there a way to add the Preview settings for my file type and apply the stylesheet? I know some of the settings such as the Verifier can not be used for a custom filter.

nope, the preview in XML filter is not designed as reusable. But creating a custom preview using the XSLT transformation is actually quite easy - .NET provides you with all libraries necessary.
