I am not able to release a publication "No version selected for object" ?

Hi,

I am able to pass the workflow and publish the content. But when the status is "Release candidate" and when trigger the release the publication is not able to move to the release state.

I am getting the following error that my map file does not have a version

  • Historically we only had publishing based on publication versions, together with baseline handling and freezing. Later on the language-level publicationoutputs was added with workflow.

    • When a publicationoutput results in a Release Candidate it means that the PublishService component published the requested content, applied variables and conditions, and then calculated if there are any broken links or hyperlinks. In other words PublishService verifies a subset of the baseline using the requested language and context.
    • When requesting a Release of the publicationoutput, you in essence ask for execution of a Baseline Freeze operation. A baseline freeze will verify the superset of selected versions in the baseline on broken links and hyperlinks. In other words any link should land, this to protect other publications that would reuse this frozen/locked baseline to not have broken links.
