Get names of all available metadata fields for an object type

Question

Hi! When working with ishremote I'm often left guessing exactly what the name of a particular metadata field is, what its type is, etc. At one point I remember a utility buried deep in the distribution folders that would provide a list of all available metadata fields for each object type. Unfortunately this requires an administrator to run for you, and the results are not easily accessible programmatically. Is there a way within ishremote that I could get a list of all metadata fields for an object type, their types (element vs. value) and what their values are?

Hi Colin, 
 I've made some blog post over the years, I also kept them together next to the (open) source code of ISHRemote on Github. 
 My first recommendation would be https://github.com/RWS/ISHRemote/blob/master/Doc/ReleaseNotes-ISHRemote-0.13.md , in essence there is an ISHRemote cmdlet that does this for you. 
 New-IshSession -WsBaseUrl https://example.com/ISHWS/ -PSCredential Admin
Get-IshTypeFieldDefinition | Out-GridView 
 Note that if you don't have an active New-IShSession, the cmdlet would return you a local copy of Field Setup (which will be missing your custom fields), otherwise it would do an API call to your system to get the exact Field Setup. 
 Another bonus of developing a script with an active New-IShSession in tools like PowerShell ISE or Visual Studio Code, is that you get autocomplete functionality. So type Set-IShMetadataField -Name F ctrl-space would show a list of the available fields with exact spelling.
