Is there a maximum number of users for Live Content Architect?

Question

Wondering if there is a limit to the number of user accounts that can be in the system. If we were to add 5k accounts what could we expect as far as performance or any other impact?

There is no maximum coded in the system. The two areas that come to mind that are probably affected in performance because of data transfer and rendering times are the Settings area itself (one grid showing all users) and the Properties-like screens (dropdowns listing users). 
 
More convincing perhaps is that we happily work with our own production instance that has around 2500 users.
