Idea Delivered

Hi Vera,

This depends on the workflow you have, but certain tasks are across all languages in the project and need all the files to arrive (aka the whole Batch), such as Project Planning, Quote Review etc. as the Quote and planning is across all languages and files. So these tasks wait for everything to arrive and then you only get one task, not one per file.

You can find more detail here:

https://docs.rws.com/791595/885141/trados-enterprise---accelerate/limitations-when-creating-custom-workflow-templates

Essentially Task scope:

- Batch = All files in all languages need to arrive
- Target language = All files in one language need to arrive
- File = Only one file needs to arrive

So if you have the Workflow Editor addon, you could build yourself a workflow that does not have any Batch tasks, only Analysis which would only wait for the specific language, and then things would move forward once the language is ready.

Thanks,
Luis

Allow to have different languages in different Stages within a project

Just today I had this issue that the Bilingual Engineering step for some of my languages was finished, but for others it wasn't. However, it wasn't possible for the translators to start working on the finished languages already - Trados wouldn't let me push only some of the languages into the Translation stage. I had to wait until Bilingual Engineering was finished for all languages.

I think this doesn't make sense at all and is counterproductive to the agility of Trados workflows. The whole point of an agile, dynamic project is that it should be possible to have different languages in different stages. It makes no sense that prepro must be finished for all languages before translation can begin.

Can you please fix this?
