Display an updated timestamp for files in Projects view/Files

Time stamps in the Files tab in a project in Projects view seem to refer to the task creation rather than the last file update (completion), and this can be misleading. Because the file is actually constantly updated on the cloud, so it would be also logical that the time stamp is also continuously updated. In addition, once a task is completed, users would expect to see the timestamp of the task completion rather than the task creation timestamp. Otherwise, when people are looking for their files, they might have doubts about whether the system recorded the right file.

Would you please consider displaying an updated timestamp? Or at least update the task creation timestamp with the task completion timestamp, once it has been completed?

Screenshot showing two tasks within Trados Enterprise. The first task 'V6.Finalize Translation' is marked as done with a timestamp of 11 Feb 2025 18:40. The second task 'V7.Target File Generation' has a timestamp of 14 Feb 2025 12:08.

  • We know that in the Task History view we can see an updated timestamp (task completion date), but we see no reason not to see this information in the Files tab. Or for users to have to change tabs to cross-check information.
Anyway, it turns out that other colleagues of mine raised the case with Support directly (case 00801572) and there is already a CRQ-34255.

  • Isn´t the file version sort of a snapshot that is taken when a task gets completed? Sure, the bilingual abstraction of the file gets updated constantly, but I think having potentially hundreds of sub-versions of the same file in each workflow task would not be helpful from my point of view.

  • Thanks for raising this Camelia. Have you explored the Task History view, which shows details such as completion? If yes, I would be curious to understand the need for this information here in addition, are the use cases different?
