Sort TM search by match score

This was available in WorldServer. When searching the TM, enable sorting by the level of match to the segment you are searching.

Screenshot of Trados Enterprise search interface with options to search in English (United States) for Japanese target language. Results show 'Secret' with 100% match and 'Consumer secret' with lower match scores.

  • We are working on updating some TM entries and the inability to sort by match based on your query is making this tedious. This was much easier in WorldServer.

  • Hi Luis,

We often use this when we are needing to make changes to TM entries. It helps us sort and filter through what needs to be changed. My team does not use the customer portal and these changes would not be happening in the Online Editor since they are not a part of the project. Having match percentage also helps us filter out some noise when we are searching for phrases in the TM. It is one of the primary sorting methods we use when working with TMs in WorldServer.

    Best,

    Russell

  • Hi Russell,

Are you asking for this in the TM Maintenance window? Could you elaborate a bit on the use case there? We have scored search in two other interfaces where it may be helpful for the use-cases. For TM Maintenance, we don't have a scored search, as we'd expect users to have use cases where they work with exact matches and regex for more advanced searches.

    1. In Customer Portal by exposing TM content to users in an organization:

Trados TM Search interface showing 3 matches found for the search term 'Finding a location for your photo printer' with match percentages of 89%, 79%, and 75% respectively.

    2. In Online Editor when performing a concordance search:
Trados Online Editor interface displaying concordance search results for the term 'correct*' with highlighted matches and their corresponding match percentages.

    Thanks,
    Luis
