Can I leave the vendor empty in a workflow template and choose the vendor only when I create the job?

Regarding workflows, when creating a workflow template, it is mandatory to select a vendor for each task whereas for a client I may want to contact different translators depending on the type of text or my knowledge of the translator's availability at that time. I think this can be problematic if the project manager forgets to modify the vendors in the workflow because they will receive a notification when it is an error and this will create confusion, unnecessary exchanges and therefore a waste of time. I would like to leave this field empty in the workflow template and choose the vendors when I create the project, is this possible?

  • Thanks for raising this idea. This is not possibly, as all tasks have to be assigned to a user. But you can assign it either to a specific Project Manager, the project creator or the project managers group specified in the project template. That way the task will always be assigned to the Project Manager first, who can then reassign it from Stages view when they have identified the vendor to select. Would that work, this is how other customers handle this flow?
