In order to display/preview software files formats/translations (of embedded products) correctly and minimize rework time for testers/translators to fix length issues in a time-consuming loop/process, we would need a way to check/preview the length of the translation using pixel/font-based checks. Length violations should be flagged in real time in the Online Editor and/or the QM check (e.g. when changing the segment status).
Currently, this is supported in a competitor's product that we apply using a specialized *.xml (*.dtxml) format. Characters and fonts are treated differently based on the size available while editing.
Using a desktop tool for this purpose is not possible (e.g. Passolo). I would ask you to implement the feature too such that we can ensure comparable functionality.
