Is it planned to add a plugin to translate AutoCAD drawings? I know that dwg is proprietary format, but AutoDesk has a framework for working with this format.
It's not planned and we don't intend to do this as an app. There are an insufficient number of requests for this format and the workarounds are reasonable using TransTools as already mentioned or something like Cad Translation Software or TranslateCAD. Nora Diaz also wrote a useful article on this topic.
