Background:

It is not possible to progress batches of files through the workflow. Projects can be created with hundreds of files, which need to be moved to different teams in groups (e.g. DTP, Engineering, Translation, PMs). 

For setups with a connector, all files are received in one project and this cannot be changed.

Workaround is cancelling files and processing in batches under the concept of mid-project changes.

Current Impact:

- Project requesters receive cancellation notifications which is a negative perception on our tools and client relationship.

- £800k annual for these specific projects, but impacting wider accounts and client relationship to a value of £6m/annual.

- 50% increase in PM time for manually managing batches, est. additional 30h/month.

- High risk of files being overlooked at cancellation and re-upload process with contractual and financial repercussions.

- Quote is always incorrect, as it combines the batch analyses and doesn't account for the fact that these savings cannot be fully utilised by translators and is therefore a financial loss to RWS.

Request:

- Ability to create sub-projects from the main project and move files into these to follow the assigned workflow in batches, OR

- Ability to select groups of files to progress through the workflow separately.
