Control A or equivalent to select whole source segment.

It seems quite difficult to select all the text in a source segment. Pressing control A will work for selecting all the text in the TARGET text segment will work, but not in the source. If you try manually to select all the text with the mouse the screen will scroll too quickly for it to be practical.

Reasons for this functionality would be to select all and paste to do a google search, paste into an email to make a query, or paste into an MT...

Absolutely - the reason for doing this is irrelevant. This is simply a logical request, as CTRL+A works in source not as expected.
