Do not extract hyperlinks in MS Word files when added with Track Changes

MS Word documents can contain hyperlinks which were added over the text with enabled Track Changes. When opening such documents in Studio 2019 (and also 2017, for that matter), those hyperlinks are always extracted, even if the "Extract Hyperlinks" option is disabled and "Apply Track Changes before opening" is enabled on the Word file type's Common settings page.

This is because hyperlinks added over the text with Track Changes are saved as field hyperlinks in Word, instead of "normal" hyperlinks.

Studio processes fields as placeholders and therefore extracts them to a new segment, instead of showing them inline with the rest of the sentence in which they occur.

We were told by SDL support that from a technical point of view, it would be possible to change this behaviour in Studio, so that hyperlinks are always displayed inline if "Extract Hyperlinks" is disabled, no matter if they were part of the original document (normal hyperlinks) or have been added over the text with Track Changes (field hyperlinks). But we were told that it would be a "huge effort" and is therefore currently not planned. So I'm opening this idea to see what the demand is from other Studio users, and whether SDL might need to reconsider.
