Ah okay, I understand, on a laptop screen this would indeed be a bit much.

But, just like you, I also don't have the termbase viewer open all the time, this was just to show you where it would open for me should I need it. I treat the right side of my editor layout as my 'research' side, so to speak, where I have all kinds of stuff pinned (advanced display filter, web lookup, concordance, IATE termbase, etc.)

Thanks for sharing your setup — that looks like a very effective layout.

In my case, however, I use a laptop where screen space is limited, so I prefer to keep the Term Recognition window in a compact, vertical layout. I also don’t keep the Termbase Viewer open side by side — I keep it in the background and bring it to the front when I need to check detailed information, which allows me to keep the Termbase Viewer large and wide.

I prefer not to expand the Term Recognition window, as doing so would reduce space for other panels I need during translation.

That said, I think some users — especially those working on larger screens — would find your idea very useful.
It might be worth posting it as a separate feature request so it can be discussed in more detail.

You can already make the term recognition window just as big as the termbase viewer, so that shouldn't be a problem IMO.

Take a look at my personal editor layout, with the term recognition to the left and the termbase viewer to the right. Both are nearly the same size and I could make the term recognition window even bigger. So, if both were combined, I would even save space in my editor, and there would be enough space for pictures, long examples etc.

In my case, however, some of my termbase entries include long example sentences and even images, and the Term Recognition window is often too narrow to display them properly.

Because of this, I find the current separation between a simplified view (the Term Recognition window) and a more spacious detailed view (the Termbase Viewer) quite practical.
