Find the way to connect IBM Watson language translation into Trados Studio

IBM Watson is growing and evolving so fast, that it is impossible to ignore it. In one year the quality of the translations of Watson Language services is skyrocketing. But I have no idea how to connect through an API both potential partners. And the best part is the price of using Watson is much less than Google...

  • We have recently created a DeepL app here - appstore.sdl.com/.../. Unfortunately, at this point in time, the DeepL team are still looking at best ways to come up with a scaleable business model for selling the API to everyone - so that is why in that context, it's also difficult to connect to their engine, even if the plug-in for Studio is already available. Thanks for the heads up!

  • Why don't you find a developer and use the APIs to create a connector?  It's probably trivial and there are plenty of source code examples around to show how to do this.  I doubt it will make it into the core product, it's better being a plugin on the appstore so Studio doesn't become overcrowded with more options than it already has.
