Automatic matching is provided via the option to create a project based on a previous project - see more details here: https://docs.rws.com/813470/898019/trados-studio-2021-sr2/perfectmatch-file-selection. You can do this via the option "Use Settings From" and then select the previous project from the Previous Projects list. This will match the file names in the new project you are about to create with the file names of the previous project. You can also use a bilingual map file to help with the process where file names are not identical. Setting this idea to delivered therefore, but happy to receive more comments on it as required.

When working on big projects with multiple files (sometimes hundreds of files), it's a quite cumbersome process to add the matching previous bilingual files in the PerfectMatch step.
Today, you have to add the files separately. And Studio doesn't offer an option to do the matching for you, even if the files have unique (identical) names.
I hope this could be looked at and made more "automated".
