Idea Delivered

You can bypass this step by editing the custom task sequence under File - Setup - Task Sequences and remove the step altogether. There is also a built-in task sequence that does not have this step ("Prepare without project TM"). Editing Task Sequences requires the Professional version of Trados Studio (not available in the Freelance version).

Missing Option to Skip TM Creation

Title: Batch Processing: Missing "None" option for Project Translation Memories Area: Task Sequence / Batch Processing Build: Trados Studio 4.1 Quantum 64-bit Beta

Description: In the Project Translation Memories settings under Batch Processing, the user is currently forced to choose between "Create file-based translation memories" or "Create server-based translation memories."

The Issue: There are many workflows where a user may want to run a batch task (like Analysis or PerfectMatch) without creating any new Project TMs at all. Currently, there is no way to bypass this selection.

Proposed Solution: Add a third radio button option: "Do not create project translation memories."

User Impact: Saves disk space and processing time by preventing the generation of redundant .sdltm files for projects where they are not required.Batch Processing settings window showing options for Project Translation Memories with radio buttons for file-based and server-based translation memories.

  • I do not know if this apply specifically but in the wizard for the projects you can edit sequences/tasks and for example remove "project translation creation" task from the sequence analyze only, if changed this applies perpetually until changed again.(step 7 of the wizard, button next to dropdown list).
