Number check should be refined: decimal point or decimal comma should be selectable

When using the functionality Verification > QA Checker 3.0 > Numbers > Check numbers, you get an error message during the Verify process when your target number uses a decimal point instead of a decimal comma (which would be expected in the target language - Italian in my case). However, for technical reasons, we use decimal points anyway, and therefore we always get an error message for wrong localization. It would be great to have the selection which decimal symbol (point or comma) is wanted and thus correct. Thank you.

  • Hi Daniel, I have installed the Number Verifier mentioned by you. It helps quite a lot. Thanks very much.

So why don't you offer it as a fix feature for Trados Studio so nobody has to install it in addition?

  • While on the subject of numbers, verification should factor in things like currency symbols being "stuck" to their number (€123,456.78) in English and not in French (symbol and numbers differently ordered: 123 456,78 €): the feature under Options should be fully configurable, not just a scattering of publisher-selected options - see my earlier post about a fully-configurable date format. Furthermore, all such language-related selections should be fully user-controlled, as Peter requests, and not language-constrained nor limited in choice.

    With kind regards,

  • Hi Peter, would the Number Verifier app help in this case: appstore.sdl.com/.../ ? Thanks, Daniel
