Productivity stats

SDL Trados Studio should show the translator's stats on its homepage, once the user opens the software.

Suggested stats are, but not limited to:

- Number of translated words in <year>/<month> etc.
- Number of translated words that week
- Historical record of daily translated words
- Average productivity rate
- Average number of translated words per hour
- Average typing speed
- Top translated areas of knowledge
- Most prevalent language pairs

These stats would help to promote our freelance business, help with project preparation when setting due dates for projects ("Based on the characteristics of this project, you would need <#ofdays> to finish it"). It could also offer features that help with focus (Pomodoro method), cheer on the translator when getting closer to the deadline, reminders to take breaks and estimated productivity rate necessary to finish a project based on stats and delivery date, all of which could be turned on and off by the user as appropriate.

  • Don't forget to vote and also vote for your own idea!  In the meantime it might be worth you looking at something like BaccS which can report on these sorts of things as well as help you with your quotes and invoicing:

    https://www.ibaccs.com/

There is also a Studio plugin available for this:

    appstore.sdl.com/.../

You're essentially asking for a Translation Management System which we do provide with larger server based solutions.  This tool might be what you're looking for.
