I know it has been voiced here many times, but I'd like to place this request again.
In my opinion Concordance as it is today is far from being perfect. It can give you matches that comprise only insignificant words like articles, prepositions and pronouns, while missing on useful expressions.
For example, I have a sentence to translate:
"Much like Boeing’s B787 Dreamliner, it has prioritised an enhanced environment for passenger comfort and wellbeing, with ambient LED lighting, larger overhead bins, spacious washrooms and wifi."
Concordance provides me e.g. with such a result from my TM:
"London’s Bulgari has embraced “holistic lifestyle approach” Bodyism (a favourite among celebrities), with personal training and Bodyism-approved dishes on its restaurant menu, while over in Spain you can do a macrobiotic weight-loss detox at Sha Wellness Clinic, or, in Germany, check in to Dusseldorf’s Breidenbacher Hof hotel for some plastic surgery, laser treatment or aesthetic dentistry in its underground clinic."
... because words like "has", "with", "a" or even "'s" altogether consitute for Trados a 50% concordance match.
In the meantime, in my TM there are expressions: "ambient LED lightning" as well as "overhead bins", but they don't get displayed, because they were embedded in a larger sentence.
That's why, I would like auto-Concordance to focus more on searching for word strings, but unlike Uplift, WITHOUT trying to provide me with translations, only informing me that a give expression exists in a TM. MemoQ has such a feature, called LSC (longest substring concordance - I believe) and it does its job.
Or at least make Concordance ignore insignificant words (e.g. words that appear most frequently in a given language) - this would make it much more reliable.
