Split or merge segments in Translation Memory Editor View

If we have been translating an important amount of content for a given client but we did not segment properly for some of the source files at some point in the past, we have now bad segmented TM while the new source files are being segmented properly.

 

Could we split/merge segments directly in the TM Editor View?

  • Hi  - Very good idea! Especially because a similar functionality exists in the Alignment view in Studio, so it would have to be somehow integrated in the TM Editor view. You probably know that you can edit a segment in the TM Editor view - so you could delete part of it as you wish. But then with the deleted part you can not create a new TU from there, it would require quite some manual work.  You could copy paste the parts of the TUs that you wish deleted into new documents (one for source one for target) and then use the Alignment function to create a TM out of that (or import into your TM) - as a temporary solution.
