"Process line breaks automatically" option causes more harm than good. It creates unbalanced subtitles and breaks linguistic units in suboptimal places. Often can cause subtitles to appear in more than 2x lines (which is against common guidelines).
In our workflow, we often have to instruct everyone involved to disable this option and/or fix line breaks manually.
I never encountered the case when this option would be useful.
