XLIFF 1.2/2.0 Filters in Trados Studio should support both hyphen and underscore for the translation state attributes.

Currently Trados Studio uses the underscore _ in the translation state attribute mapping (needs_review_adaptation).  The XLIFF specification uses hyphens (needs-review-adaptation).  So we need to modify the XLIFF files to correctly map the translation states in Studio (prep and post-processing).  Almost every XLIFF project we receive uses the hyphen for these values.

Would it be possible to get the Studio filters to support use of hyphens in these values?

  • Actually the underscores are only presented in the UI. Initially the XLIFF filter indeed used the underscores but once we find out that's actually wrong we changed the functionality so the target files will always contain values with hyphens. I guess we should also change the values in the UI to make it less confusing.
