Ability to filter Mantra projects based on a selected TMS sub-organization

In certain cases, a Mantra user (e.g. a senior manager) might have permissions to view projects at the parent TMS organization level as well as the corresponding sub-organization levels. However today in Mantra all these projects are displayed under one view, and there is no way to filter on a sub-organization.

The feature request here is to implement a filter mechanism that allows user to drill down into projects for a particular sub-organization. Upon doing so all Mantra data (projects, charts etc.) would also be updated to reflect the selection.

Bonus: To go one step further here, the data export mechanism in Mantra would also only export the relevant data based on the selection.

Thanks,

Phil.

  • Hi Phil,

To confirm, Organization Filtering was introduced in the 18.10 release for SDL Managed Translation.

  • Hi Ian,

    That's great news.

    Thanks,

  • Hi Phil,

I'm pleased to confirm the filter-by-organisation feature you suggested is currently being implemented and will be included in a future version of SDL Managed Translation, likely to be in Q3 this year.

  • Hi Phil,

Many thanks for raising this product suggestion. I agree - it would be a very useful feature to allow a user to limit the 'scope' of what they see through the ManTra interface. I'm interested to hear if other Community members share this view.

I'm not sure I entirely agree with regards your bonus suggestion. The approach we take for the ManTra Data Export is currently very simple - we include all projects available to a user, regardless of their selected data duration and user settings controlling project visibility. The user can then apply the relevant filters from within the Data Export itself. I would argue we should adopt the same approach if and when we implement scope filtering - the user, by default, is provided with all projects in the Data Export but can choose to limit the scope by setting a filter (on the "Organization" field) within the Export itself.

    Cheers,

    Ian
