Increase max size limit for uploads from 1GB to 2GB

We'd like to investigate the possibility of increasing the size limit of uploads in to Mantra from 1GB to 2GBs. This would be quite helpful for projects with lots of Graphics, Fonts and languages, which therefore have a lot of files that need to be put into Mantra and may exceed 1GB. We'd prefer not to have to use FTP to facilitate getting the additional files to the LSP.

  • Interesting idea Ian. This static library could potentially help as an image/graphics database, especially if it could be accessed by other systems (but that's changing this request pretty dramatically) :)

  • Hi Rebecca,

We've deliberately stayed away from increasing the limit for individual files uploaded through ManTra. Large files will clearly impact on user experience during the project creation process and increase the risk of a transfer error occurring during file upload/transfer.

Users still have the option of 'grouping' files into multiple archive packages, so long as an individual archive file doesn't exceed 1GB.

As an alternative to uploading large files during project creation and associating these with individual projects, another option might be to introduce a 'Resource Library', accessible through ManTra, and available to all users working on a given account. This would be a static file repository, and therefore present less of a risk than bundling files with an individual project. This is just a suggestion at this point - I'm just looking for alternative solutions that might allow us to avoid having files larger than 1GB attached to a single project.

    Cheers,

    Ian
