Not Considering

Hi Ladislav,

The correct way forward is to download packages which already contain all the necessary filetypes and settings. We would like to discourage users from downloading individual SDLXLIFF files because, whilst you may consider it to offer more value, there is actually more inherent risk in this approach. If you feel that downloading packages is giving you a limitation then perhaps you could submit another idea on how the package download experience can be improved.

Enable direct filetype download when downloading SDLXLIFFs

As downloading TMS Studio packages is quite timeconsuming and does not offer the same freedom as downloading SDLXLIFFs for project preparation, it would be really great to provide relevant filetypes when downloading SDLXLIFFs from TMS.

  • Hello David,

actually the worst aspect here is the time... package creation takes much longer than files download - and lately all TMSes are getting slower and slower...

Also, downloading packages means changing project names and project settings (as not all settings can be applied using Apply project template app) and only then re-analyzing etc. - it requires much more manual work on our side than working with individual files... (more space for human error) and this again takes our time... when downloading sdlxliffs I can work on anything else during project creation, so the whole process takes less than 1 minute (actually about 30 seconds), but with packages it is around 2-3 minutes... per project... which is quite significant.
