Idea Delivered

Hi Josje,

Thanks for submitting your idea for SDL TMS. I'm a little confused, however, because SDL TMS already allows you to specify multiple cost models on a configuration and you can select the appropriate one at the Authorization step. It seems then that we've already delivered this idea so please add further comment if I'm missing something here.

Regards,

David

Multiple Job Cost Formula's per configuration

Only 1 Job Cost Formula can be selected per Configuration. SDL TMS will calculate the minimums per job automatically, but this is not always what I want. Sometimes I need to have the quote without the minimums. It would be great if we can switch Job Cost Formula's per project, maybe via Autorization?

The problem now is that I have the false cost formula in TMS  - with minimums. The client approves the quote in the SDL Language cloud, so the only way how to fix it is to credit the minimum costs what makes it a very messy quotation.

For 75% of the jobs the cost formula is working well (also with the minimums) but for 25% of the jobs where we do not calculate the minimums it is not a very nice process.

It would be great we can have multiple Job Costs Formula's per Configuration.

  • Hey Josje,

We can work with what David suggests so you can make a ticket for that if you need it and I'll set it up for you :)

However as a sidenote; in my opinion looking at this from the maintenance side maybe it's not such a bad idea to be able to select more than one cost formula on a configuration and have one set as default for the whole job. The PJM can then switch on the authorization step to another cost formula if needed. This way you avoid double maintenance of all the rates in the form of double cost models. Just my two cents.

    Have a good weekend both!
